What Makes Us Unique

Flatbush Cats is more than just an animal welfare nonprofit; we're a community that puts people first.

We value collaboration and actively seek leaders who can help shape and guide our organization's growth.

My wife & I wanted to be part of the cat rescue world but weren’t sure how. Fostering became a hobby and a passion for us - and after seeing how up-close and personal Flatbush Cats gets with their community and volunteers, we went all-in as fosters, holding space volunteers, and assistants to the core team.

Just thinking about the cat overpopulation crisis in Brooklyn can feel daunting, overwhelming, and lonely, let alone trying to fix it! Flatbush Cats provides volunteers like me with the tools, resources, and community to sustain our efforts and bring about real, long-term change.
— Caroline

I decided to volunteer as a content producer with Flatbush Cats to support animal welfare and utilize my experience as a veterinary technician. I try to provide the public with insights and knowledge into rescue and foster work.

 VOLUNTEER Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers in many areas, including at our non-profit vet clinic, in our holding space, supporting our community through outreach, transporting, and trapping community cats for TNR. Roles include remote and in-person opportunities.

The first step is to participate in an orientation session, online or in-person in Flatbush so we can learn more about each other and you can choose your perfect role. No matter your experience level or skill set, you can make a difference in the lives of pets, people, and outside cats in our community.

To sign up for an orientation, please click to fill out our volunteer questionnaire, then check your email. We can’t wait to meet you.
