Community Outreach

Please note this is for local support in the Flatbush area.

Community outreach volunteers help us by talking to their neighbors about the importance of spay/neuter, and making sure they know about our new free or low cost mobile spay/neuter clinic!

You’ll be letting people know about spay/neuter and the mobile clinic services that we offer Flatbush residents. You’ll receive materials you can hand out to members of the community (you can either pick them up from us or print them yourself).

Transport

Please note this is for local support in the Flatbush area.

Transport volunteers bring cats to the vet or the ASPCA clinic for spay/neuter. This is a very flexible position for someone with a car who wants to help, but only has sporadic availability. Volunteers commit to handling one trip per month as schedules allow. Here are some sample trips:

  • Picking up a cat from a foster and bringing her to a local vet during a weekday (Saturday mornings are sometimes available too if the situation is not time-sensitive)

  • Picking up a cat from a foster and bringing her to the ASPCA Spay/Neuter clinic in Glendale, Queens, or a local pickup spot in Crown Heights or Sunset Park. Drop-off times are usually around 7am, so it’s possible to do this and still be at work by 8:30 or 9am (we do it all the time). Yes, it’s early, but it’s a very critical part of this work. You may also pick up the cat at the same spot at 5pm the same day (times and locations vary).

Community Outreach Coordinator

(apply below)

Please note this is for local support in the Flatbush area.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring our spay/neuter mobile clinic events are a success! We have three slated for 2019 currently, and for each we need 15-20 local residents to show up.

This role involves working with the public - planning and managing local outreach efforts, training and onboarding volunteers, speaking with residents about spay/neuter and answering any questions, sharing info and materials with local businesses, etc.

Admin

(apply below)

Warning: no cats involved! This is a remote position for someone who understands non-profit organizations require a lot of, well, organization! Just like fosters scoop litter boxes every day and TNR volunteers clean traps, there’s lot of unseen operations work like responding to support inquiries, thanking donors, etc. This position does not require you to be based in the Flatbush area. We currently need volunteers who are very familiar with using Airtable (database management software).

WE ALSO NEED EVENT PLANNERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR OUR FOSTERS! PLEASE APPLY BELOW.
